Re:
Member Suggestion Tool, The Range Bag

We are very excited about seeing many of you at the IDPA National Championship in Tulsa this coming week. Our creative Match Directors have lots of fun in store for all, and rumor has it that Mike Webb is doing his "no rain" dance even as you read this.

I'd just like to update our membership on a few of the happenings and decisions here at Headquarters.

As you are aware from previous communications, we will be opening the Rulebook this fall for potential revisions on rules to update.  Our Member Suggestion Tool will open on Sept. 22nd and remain open until Oct. 6th. Just like last time, any current IDPA member will have access to this tool to make their recommendations for revisions to the rulebook. After this suggestion period closes, we will have our Tiger Team leaders evaluate each submission, and present a final product to the Board. Our goal is to have the rulebook take effect Jan. 1, 2015. We will be sending out an eblast a few days prior to the opening on Sept. 22nd with detailed information including the link to the tool.

In other news, the IDPA store will soon have a new name – The Range Bag. Based on research and discussion with many of our members, the Pro Shop Tiger Team delivered to us not only the updated name, but a list of products that we will be stocking shortly. We will debut a few of those products at the Nationals in Tulsa, and they will be available to order on-line after Sept. 12th. The new offerings include:
An IDPA magnetic lanyard pen – great for your range bag or scorekeeping duties!
A golf umbrella for rainy days on the range, sporting the IDPA logo.
A logo’d microfiber golf towel.
Please note that we will be closed next week for the National Championship and The Range Bag will be shut down, so orders will not be possible until September 12th, when The Range Bag opens back up. Orders placed then will be fulfilled after Nationals.  Keep watching the website as we continue to unveil more products to The Range Bag.

I hope to see you on the range!

I would appreciate it if each

I would appreciate it if each IDPA member who would like to see the rule 3.9.1 (prohibiting reloading on the move in most cases) go away to please use this time to let IDPA know your displeasure with the whole basketball traveling thing.

If you would like to restore the ability to be able to decide for your own if you want to stow or reload while hidden from threats (behind cover) then speak up. Done be silent! This will be our only attempt to fix this for many years.

That would be TRAVELING Jack. :-) I wholeheartedly agree... shooters SHOULD be able to reload anywhere in the COF.

Everyone needs to voice their opinion on September 22nd.  Even Miss Joyce is not immune to the flat footed reload rule.
