I would like to thank all the NVSA members for the help and understanding they offered me on my first IDPA shoot on August 16, 2015.
Of course I made a "boat-load" of mistakes; a lot of new terms and rules for a "newbie" to take in. I have been shooting for many years; my brothers and I shot .22's in what we called the Junior NRA in the early 60's, I shot in the military, hunted a little, shot completely unorganized skeet shooting and have had a CCW for about 10 years. I have always believed anyone carrying a weapon should have a lot of proper training and I was deficient in that area like most CCW permit holders, so I decided to try the IDPA recommended by Shooters' Paradise in Yuba City. I love to shoot and this IDPA shoot was a "sh_t-load" of fun. I am about safety, proficiency and fun where firearms are concerned. I have always believed that complacency has no quarter in flying aircraft, motorcycle riding or handling weapons at the range. For this reasons I just joined the IDPA and have submitted my application for membership with the NVSA. I have also applied for the gate card for the range with the City of Gridley.
I hope to see you all in the near future and shoot again and I welcome all constructive criticism or tips you all can give me..
