The City completed repairs to the west berm and has given us the go-ahead to start holding matches again.
The "bad' news is that there is a lot of cleanup/repairs that need to be done before we can start doing so.
As you can see from the photos, the city’s heavy equipment churned up the range pan, turning it into a fine powder. Luckily they spared the bays themselves.
I will be going out on next Sunday, 04 June, along with Jay, who is bringing his pressure washer out, so that we can begin to clean the barrels/barricades/tables/walls, and anything else portable that needs cleaning. We could probably use a few folk to help out. I’ll have the gate open between 0730-0800. My plan is to get the props done first and staged out of the way for later, with a goal of shooting a fun match on Sunday, 04 July. There is no sign-up for this Sunday coming, if you want to help, shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
The weekend of 10/11 June, is when I plan to start some of the ‘heavy’ work. We need to get the pads levelled and conexes relocated. Sooo, if there is anyone with a backhoe, and/or heavy equipment expertise that I can defer to… Heavy cables/chains will also be required. We’ll also need to move the outhouse back to its “home spot”. The boxes will need to be totally emptied and, most likely will require disinfecting. Anybody experienced with mold removal and what is required?
The following weekend of 17/18 June would be cleaning the 3” of dirt from the building, lubing/painting of steel, and organizing all the doo-dads.
My initial thought, since we are well into the heat by then, is to just do half-days the last two weekends… 0700-1200-ish. Depending on how the work parties feel.
I’ll work with Ty to get some sign-ups on PractiScore for those weekends. I’ll definitely need pressure washer folks for both.
If ya have any questions, suggestion, or gripes, please feel free to email me at email@example.com.
With any luck, we’ll be shootin’ SOON!
