1911 Upgrades

Looking for advice.

Target gun Les Baer Premier II

Currently is has a 5lb trigger. and the Grip safety needs a little adjustment. (it works properly I just want it to release sooner)

What parts do I need to get this thing down under 3lbs. and shorten the reset. Everyone raves about the 1911 trigger, this one is nice but leaves a little to be desired. Do I just need springs or is there a super duper dohickey thingamajing I need to get to get the most out of this gun.

On the grip safety I have heard there is a way to get the safety to release without having a perfect grip on it.

I will wait the advice from the 1911 gurus.

Hey Ty, I'm sure the trigger

Hey Ty,

I'm sure the trigger parts are of good quality and with a little tuning will work great.  Of course there are upgrade parts you can run.  I'm using Koenig Hammers, EGW or Extreme Sears and Extreme Disconectors.

As for the grip safety, I usually try to tuning the spring first.  removing material from the grip safety can lead to problems as it wears.  Ask Wayne!  haha!

I can do it for you or help you do it.  I just did one for Manny and I'm going to do Kelly's soon.  I have a sear jig and all the specialty tools.

Just got a Kimber Gold Match

Just got a Kimber Gold Match II in SS 9 mm and shot the match yesterday in ESP. Really enjoyed it, but now I have some questions. I will be putting a S&A on it but would like some rubber grips that are flat edged to fill that gap that beveled grips leave. Any ideas where I can get some? S&A only do wood....

That's the idea. I ran it at

That's the idea. I ran it at the August match before it went to jail for 10 days. Huge difference with accuracy (shot my second clean stage in 2 years) but need to work on the time. I have to get used to these 1911 habits some more, but yes, I do intend to make this my ESP tool of choice. My XD is starting to get worried.
