How ya all doing, I am going

How ya all doing, I am going to be the match director for this match in Fallon NV.

If you have any questions about the match my number is 775-225-1643. I don't live in Fallon and have also had some unique times at matches there. They have redone there range and will have safety tables at the match and we will follow all ICORE rules. They are also putting in shade at each bay. They are still on a learning curve but well on there way to being one of the best ranges I have been to. This is their first major match and we will have some learning to do. Any help would be great. Hope to see you all here.

Nathan, Great for you to stop

Nathan,

Great for you to stop by. Thank you for wanting to put on a match.  Are you planning on going to either the Southwest regional or the IRC in 2012?

I am thrilled to hear about the range improvements. Looking forward to meeting you. My wife and I do plan on attending your Regional match. Heck its a couple hours closer than Morro Bay.

I just looks at an aerial

I just looks at an aerial shot of the range. I looks like there is some very new shooting bays on the west side of the range. I'm excited to shoot this match. I am sure Nathan will put on an excellent show. Here's my dilemma. Do I drive RV out there and party at the range, or do I drive into town and stay there. (Bonanza Casino?) Any help?

The Midwest Regional

The Midwest Regional application is now on the ICORE website. The match hotel will be the Holiday Inn Express in Fallon, NV. Please mention the ICORE Midwest Regional or Stillwater Firearms Association to get a discount.

There will be a drawing for one of the early bird entries, a one nights stay in the luxury suit at the Holiday Inn Express. We are also working on getting a dinner for two. The drawing will take place after August 1st when we receive all the early bird entries, the winner will be notified as soon as possible so they can make their reservations.

There will be campig there, but no hookups. Think you can get water there I will look into it if your going to bring trailers. I am going to bring my trailer and stay at the range.

Great News! Wendy and I

Great News! Wendy and I will be there. I will get our app out soon. I am leaning towards bringing out my 5th wheel trailer. Will there be an issues with generators running all night? Depending on temperature, I like a little comfort.

Looks like the

Looks like the Holiday Inn Express is the place to be. (Got to pay your dues/NV taxes at the Stockman)

Is everybody going to wait until the drawing after Aug 1st to make reservations or go ahead and make them now?

I have lots of rewards points I can use to get a good rate.

It looks like Nathan is on here once and a while, can we get the NVSA group on the same squad like the IRC? It was a lot of fun to have everyone shoot at the same time. Maybe we should send him an Email and try to get all of us together

I think having us all on a squad is a terrific idea. I sure did enjoy it down at the IRC. I'm going to be taking my trailer. I like the idea of having it right there. I still get pretty exhausted after a day of shooting, so the less travel etc I have to do the better. Heck, if need be I can just go back to the trailer and catch a nap.

Just talked to Nathan about

Just talked to Nathan about the match.  He wanted to come over and shoot with us today, but work got in the way.  He wanted me to remind everyone there is a drawing for a hotel room and steak dinner for the early bird registrations.  Get yours in by August 1!

Also, if anyone want to shoot a second gun the fee is $25.00 and most likely will not walk the prize table for the second gun unless they get more prizes then they need.

Hope to see everyone there!

Hope I shoot as well as I did at the BBQ! I finish above dead last for a change :-)

It's more than likely 300 will be plenty.  However, I always carry a box of 100 in my "spares" bag.  Since my stage bag will hold 50 clips and I have plenty of clips, I figured I'd just put the spares on clips.

Can't wait to hit the road in the morning!

Did some number crunchin'

Did some number crunchin' with the scoresheet:

Attendance -
(3) Grand Master
(5) Master
(7) A-class
(17) B-class
(24) C-class
(23) D-class
(8) Unclassified

87 shooters. 29 in Open / 42 in Limited / 16 in Classic

There were:
(5) Juniors
(5) Law Enforcement
(7) Military
(10) Ladies
(11) Seniors
(15) Distinguished Seniors
(18) Six-shooters

On the personal side, I was pretty happy with my shooting... 76/87 Overall, 13/16 in Classic (which was good enough for 2nd Place in D-class) with my best stage finish being on the par-time ProAm Steel at 65/87.
hich was surprising to see.

Overall, NVSA represented quite well, coming home with, I believe, 5 trophies. There were so many of us that we couldn't all shoot on one squad :-). Nathan ran a great match (his first major), the staff was awesome, the stages were fun AND challenging, and the BBQ on Saturday simply outstanding. I definitely plan on going next year... gotta get some more of that poppyseed salad dressing from The Slanted Porch!

charlie, you are ritht on

charlie, you are ritht on with what you say. The shoot was wonderful. And I too plan on headind over thee again next year. I may even monitor their site and if hey hve some good matches go over just for h fun of it. Great Range. and yep, that dressing is great. For those that don't know, the Slanted Porch is a vey nice restruant that Brian suggested and we all had great meals. The poppy seed dressing was thier house vinnegrate and we all had it and relly enjoyed it. Charlei and I each bought a bottle to bring home. Great stuff.Wonderfu; place toeat if you are ever in Fallon.

Adn I'm all too familiar with the fact there wee 87 shooters, as that was my finish. I definately will hope to do beter in th future. Don't go to a big match with speedloaders you hve never used before. Dumb thing to do.
