April 8th, ICORE match

Update: RESULTS here  Video is Here.

Overall Champion: John Bagakis
Open winner: Mark Barr
Limited winner: John Bagakis
Classic winner: Mark Hicks
High Lady: Alexis Katz
High Senior: Mark Hicks
High Super Senior: Don Barr

For those that have been wondering, we will be having our regular match this Easter Sunday.  We will have the Far and Near standards stage, a classifier,  a great looking field course and another stage with some steel.  Depending on how we are running, we may even set up a 5th stage.   The field course will use some walls and we can use some help setting up for those who can make it in time.  The ICORE website has updated the classifications for everyone including our March scores.  We should have a great day.  Most of us who have shot the Far and Near standards stage have not shot it using the par times that are allowed.  It should be interesting to see how it goes and what we need to work on. We are still working on getting all of our targets and gear in the trailer so that we can use all of our available targets.   See you all there Sunday morning.  Mark Hicks

Note from Mark Barr: Videos are Here.

John Bagakis and Dan Carden

John Bagakis and Dan Carden really showed us how to shoot yesterday.  They were both very impressive and as friendly a couple of guys as you'd ever want to meet.

I tried out my new video camera.  It's a Kodak that's waterproof to 10 feet and idiot resistant....  I have not tried the waterproof feature yet...

Videos are here.

Ok.  Results and videos are

Ok.  Results and videos are posted.  It was a great, fun day.  No surprise, John Bagakis was our match winner.  The Far and Near standards stage was an eye opener for all of us I'm sure.  I know the newer shooters who had never shot it, especially now that the par times are back, saw what it takes to complete a stage like that.  Shooters who have shot it without the par times, had some learning to do also.  Those of us who are able to get all of the shots off within the par time limits seemed to find that it's harder to get the bonus X's.  On some of the strings if you took a little longer, shooting without par time, you might more than make up for a second or two of additional time with more bonuses and more alphas.  But with the overtime shot penalty, watch out.

Watching the videos of the other stages, there were quite a few different ways to complete a stage, especially for the shooters with 8 shot revolvers.  A couple of shooters forgot a target on Mark Barr's stage. It was fun.  Everyone that's going to the Southwest Regional this month, good luck and have fun.  I've got to miss this one.  See some of you next Sunday for our IDPA match.  Mark H.

One more thing to add.  The classifiers have been mailed off so they can be updated as soon as possible.
