The Match Status is !

Boat ramp construction has changed our range access.

  • Normal key access will not be available.
  • We will open the outer gate from 6:00 to 6:10 for stage construction. (be prompt!)
  • Extra help is greatly appreciated, and needed.
  • The outer gate will be opened again from 7:15 to 7:50
  • Each shooter arriving will "man" the gate until the next shooter arrives (leap-frogging)
  • The boat ramp is closed, so only match participants/spectators will be allowed in.
  • The last arrival will lock the gate at 7:50 and proceed to registration.
  • ANYONE ARRIVING AFTER 7:50 WILL HAVE TO WALK IN.  NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Shooter registration will end at 8:00, immediately followed by the shooter's meeting.
  • The match will begin following the shooter's meeting

                            IMPORTANT  -  IMPORTANT -  IMPORTANT

Temperatures will be in the low 90s by the end of the match..

All able-bodied participants will be expected to tape, brass and help with stage tear down after the match. smiley

EVERYONE SHOOTING THIS MATCH WILL BE EXPECTED TO PULL THEIR WEIGHT.

Thank you in advance for your support of this.  Charlie and Craig Severance have some great stages planned

and I am looking forward to  a great match.

  • Check back here Saturday evening after 6:00 for any updates. We never know when construction developments may throw a "monkey wrench" in our match plans. The Match Status is !

See you on Sunday,

Mark Barr, Match Director

Well....Wendy and I

Well....Wendy and I unfortunately wont be there this weekend. We will be there next year for the September BBQ match. If you have not already done so (and I know who you are). Please sign up for next months match today. It is important that we get an accurate head count so that everyone attending gets to eat some food. Please be patient with me over the next several weeks as I sound like a broken record reminding everyone to sign up. If you have trouble please use the contact form to contact me.

If you login to NVSA prior to signing up you can come back at any time and update or change your information. If you do not sign in to NVSA prior to registering, you may still sign up but because you did not sign in to NVSA you wont be able to change anything in the event you wish to later on. If this happens just let me know what changes you need made and I will make them for you.

Cant wait to see you all next month. What are you waiting for sign up now.>>

FYI - Range is VERY dusty.

FYI - Range is VERY dusty. Deep powder, especially in eatern bay. Boots are the suggested foot wear.

The ability to shoot straight is that part of national security which affects the individual more than any other. - Merritt "Red Mike" Edson; CMOH-USMC

Sounded like most everyone

Sounded like most everyone enjoyed the stages today and the weather wasn't too bad until towards the end. That early start time sure does help out. Aaaaand... I did win $5 from Mark Barr on an ill-advised, on his part ;-), bet.

Wow! What a day.  Thanks

Wow! What a day.  Thanks Charlie and Craig for all your hard work on this match.  I know you two spent 8 hours Saturday setting up and you were both at the range at dawn to finish setup..  Super job!

Phill Osbourn was there at 6:00 stapling, painting, hauling.... anything we asked of him.  HUGE help.  Thanks.

Javier....  4 stage wins and in the top 5 for accuracy..  Outstanding dude.  Your are the man!

Brian Gonsalves,  I filled your shoes today running the shooters meeting and trying to solve all those little problems that come up.. I came home trashed..  You make it look so easy.  It's anything but easy.  I'm sure glad you are "El Hefe" for the NVSA.

Charles, You lived in that steel box until everything was in it's proper place... What a sauna that box can be.  Thank you!

Deanna,  You sacrifice by sitting at that computer and performing the tedious job of scorekeeper..  Nice job, as always.

... and to everyone else participating today, Great job.  I never once saw any "Shade Dwellers".. never once had to remind anyone to pull their weight..  Everyone hustled to tape and brass and tear down the stages after we were finished.  VERY IMPRESSIVE!

You all made my job so much easier,

Mark Barr

A big thanks to Phill Osborne

A big thanks to Phill Osborne for letting me share his sweeeeet Kimber after I stupidly left mine at home (note to self - bring a gun to shooting matches). Phill even changed groups to help me out - typical of the folks I've gotten to know at NVSA. I had my best match ever; maybe I'll 'forget' my little 4" lightweight more often! Just kidding, Phill...

Thanks also to Charlie and Craig for some great stages. Even though they give me fits, gotta love those swingers and poppers!

Javier is a force to be

Javier is a force to be reckoned. Just be glad he doesn't do ICORE. I have missed him for the last 2 months, due to scheduling conflicts.

Ring, Ring,

Hello.....ah ha..wait,...a huh...wait ..ok....click......

Javier.....That was Joyce Wison from IDPA HQ. She said something about alien, then superman...followed by not from this planet.... and concluded with your IDPA membership has been revoked to keep competitor moral up.... blah ..blah...blah. I tried to argue with her but she had none of it. Sorry buddy I hate to be the bearer of bad news. wink
