September 11 ICORE match

September 11th ICORE
Scores here
Videos here.

Mark Hicks proved today that you do not need moonclips to run the gauntlet. His lightning fast reloads seemed almost magical. Way to go Mark, You are our Classic Division Champion!

Brian Gonsalves took Open Class Champion. He is no stranger to first place. He proved again today that Open shooters need not apply.

Mark Barr, with his eagle eye and steadfast aim, finished today on top of all other Limited class shooters.

Other notables was Lynn Brazelton. He closed the gap this month to Mark Hicks in the Classic division. Mark had better watch out Lynn is coming. See you all next month.

 Previous post by Mark Hicks:

We will be shooting the ICORE postal match this Sunday.  The latest I've seen is that it's supposed to heat up for a couple of days and them hopefully back down to 95 or so Sunday.  The stages are posted on the ICORE website.  Charley said that he would like to set up stage 2.  I'll be there early and will have the diagrams for the stages printed.  Just need a few more  people there to help set up the stages.  No steel, just a bit of measuring distances to get things set up right.

The postal matches allow you to compare your scores with shooters from all over the U.S. and those from other countries.  I think it's great now that with the addition of the Ruger Rimfire matches along with IDPA and ICORE matches that we have some kind of a match 3 weekends out of the month.  I'm ready to try the rimfire match later this month.

Now that we have our new targets and stands we can have a steel challenge or some other sort of steel stage each match along with a classifier stage.  That would leave only 2 other stages to design each month.

I hope to see as many of the revolver shooters who can make it this Sunday at the match.  Mark Hicks

Thanks Lynn.  About 7:30

Thanks Lynn.  About 7:30 would be good.  Stage 1 is just 3 targets and a shooting box. Charlie's doing stage 2.  Stage 3 and 4 have several shooting postitions and more targets.  I am converting all the measurements to feet and inches.  The diagrams are in meters.  Brian pointed it out to me. See you there.  thanks, Mark Hicks

Wow, looking at the scores

Wow, looking at the scores was really enlightening. Not at all what I expected. The stages I felt I did so poorly on I did much better than I though, whereas on the stages I felt pretty good about, I didn't do so well on. I was really surprised. Congratulations to Brian and both Mark's for doing so well. And a big thanks to Brian for doing all the hard work of getting the scores posted up for us, and an big thanks to Ty for posting the videos. I apologize if you thought I was bugging you. I wasn't trying to do that, but I got to thinking since it was the postal match that maybe we had to wait until after they had been submitted or something before we could see them.

No worries Lynn, I didn't

No worries Lynn, I didn't take it that way at all!  Congrats on a great Match!

I have sent the results in and received a conformation email that they received them.  Now we just have the wait until January to see how we did!

I thought it was a real fun

I thought it was a real fun match.  I did notice those scores with Lynn within a few seconds of me on most of the stages.  No time for a letdown now.  Good shooting by Brian and Mark as usual.  I hope everyone had a good time.  See you next Sunday.  Mark Hicks

Great stages on Sunday's

Great stages on Sunday's ICORE match...

We had our normal relaxed, fun environment for wheel-gunners only.  No bottom feeders allowed!  It proves that attitude is everything.  Or maybe the small size of the match allows for less waiting, fewer logistical problems,  etc.

Maybe we should be wary about growing our club too big, too fast.  More than about 12 shooters per squad starts to make for a LONG day....

Thanks to all of you who showed up early to set up the stages.  I usually design a stage and come early to build it.  This time, we just showed up at about 815 and everything was ready to go.  To those responsible, Nice Job.

.... Now, all we have to do is solve the Brian G. supremacy issue.  Maybe we can get him to start empty and load on the clock for all of his stages....  However, that would only add about 15 secs to his match totals..  Lately, he's been winning by roughly twice that...

Dang!

Mark

Well said Mark, I want to

Well said Mark,

I want to express my thank you to those that setup.

I also want to vote for more stages like stage 3. It had several locations. Out of the last ICORE matches I have shot I really enjoy the reload at each box. The shots dont have to overly difficult. I just like shooting and reloading on the run.  I would enjoy more 4+ box stages. even repeating boxes would be fun. Saying that I will be setting up a steel stage next month. Maybe a field course in november.

On the Brian subject. I vote we put a patch over his left eye.

Ok, first I would like to

Ok, first I would like to thank everyone who set up the stages,  It was nice to get there at 8:30 get out my gear and shoot!  I promise not to make a habit of getting there at that time!

To my friend Mark, I don't know.  Do you think the un-loaded start is the answer?  This one looks ok???

And my friend Ty, really?  My left eye?  To those of you who don't know, I'm blind in my right eye and right-handed. Talk about cross-dominate!

Haha! wink
