Ok.  We're getting things together for Sunday's match.  First, don't forget to move your clocks forward Saturday night.  We plan on starting setup around 7:30.  I have sent emails to Gene and Mike about our steel stages.  We do have a limited amount of steel plates and may have to alter things to fit with what is available.  I will get a list together so that  in the future we can better plan to split up the steel when we are having two stages that use steel.  I want to thank everyone who volunteers to help with stages and everything else.  We are all still learning how to get done what's required, designing and setting up stages, coordinating plans between all of us.  I know I'm learning something every month.  We've got a great group of revolver shooters and I just want us to be safe and keep having fun.  Check back tomorrow, Saturday, after 6 to make sure everything is a Go.  thanks, Mark Hicks

It's 6:15.  I'm heading down

It's 6:15.  I'm heading down to the range.  Windy but no rain in Corning.  We'll see how it looks down there.  I saw that I missed a couple of phone calls last night. Sorry.  See you there.  Mark H.

Well, a bit windy it was, but no rain and some great stages. Bowling with Bullets bit a few folks, but what a great stage from some new shooters! I woulda done ok on Shooter's Choice if I hadn't booted a couple of loaders :-)

Today was terrific. Thanks to all that designed the stages. They were all great! The weaather was cooperative also. A bit windy and cold, but no rain, so overall a decent day.

Video is up.  It's my first

Video is up.  It's my first video post in quite a while.  I didn't get footage of everybody, but maybe got enough to tempt some folks into joining the wheelgun crowd.

It was cold and blustery, as you can see from the clothing we wore.  Great stages too.

...  and we got in the whole match without a drop of rain.  Not a bad day, hu?

Results should be up soon.  I

Results should be up soon.  I tried real hard to get everything updated for everyone, division, classification, special categories, etc.  Sent the first results to Ty and noticed one wrong entry.  Fixed it and sent it again.  So Ty, it's the second set that is the correct one.

We did have a great day, especially after thinking we might be in for a lot more bad weather than we thought.  I did some checking and the information I got was that on the first classifier if you shot an extra shot and hit the target, you were penalized for both.  But not a procedural on top of that.  The second one with the required prone position calls for "Failure to go prone incurs a single procedural".  That's how I scored them.

We did shoot the 2 classifiers to help people get classified sooner.  Both the stages with steel were fun.  We did alter the Bowling stage a bit, and I think we had enough difficulty built in for everyone. Thanks, Mark, Gene, Barrett and MIke for setting up.  Everyone else that helped too.  It was fun shooting with one squad and getting to see everyone shoot.   See you at the IDPA match next Sunday.  How are you doing Brian?  Take it easy for as long as you need to.  Don't over do it.  Mark H.

The March scores are up.

The March scores are up.  Just go to the "Results" at the top of the home page.  On both of the classifiers where there was a question on scoring extra hits, extra shots, not going prone, etc. , I have used the box for comments on the classifier score sheet.  I tried to get definitive answers,  but still got some conflicting information.  I have explained how I scored  each classifier so they can be corrected if needed.  This only involved a couple of shooters.  Mark H.

Hey Mark & Ty.  Thanks for

Hey Mark & Ty.  Thanks for getting the results up so fast.  I did make one correction to the results banner.  First Senior 55+ was Mark Hicks.  I'm still a junior, being only 51.  I didn't know how to fix that in the results table, so I left THAT alone.

Thanks for correcting that

Thanks for correcting that Mark.  I was looking all over past results, including IDPA, trying to get all the special categories updated.  I thought I saw you listed in senior results somewhere.  At first when Alexis said something and looked kind of shocked, I thought she had just dropped a loaded moonclip, then I saw what it was.  She mentioned she had just received her gun back after getting work done on it.  We've got some good competition going on between shooters at our club.   If anyone else notices any other corrections I can make to the special categories, let me know.  Mark H.

Hello All, I'm sorry I missed

Hello All,

I'm sorry I missed what sounds like was a great match!  Congrats to my friend Mark on his win!  But don't get to accustom to it, just how many surgeries can one person have in a year?  Or, 3 months for that matter!  For those that have ask, I am recovering but this one did hit me harder than my two wrist surgeries did.  I'll be ready for the Southwest Regional!

Speaking of the Southwest Regional, if you haven't sent in your entry do it NOW!  You won't regret it, it's a great match!

Also, get your IRC entry in before April 1st and save $25.00.  Not a big savings, but you can buy me a drink or two!wink

On the cylinder flying out.  It's more common in speed loader guns than moon clips as you need to push down more on the speed loader.  However it can happen with both and can be a match killer!  For those of you who haven't taken out that screw it has a spring loaded plunger in the end that holds the crane in but allows it to rotate.  You should check that plunger from time to time to make sure it is not gummed up or stuck.  They are inexpensive, so I replace them every year or so.  Also, when replacing or re-installing them if you've taking them out for work or cleaning you should use 'Blue' locktite on the screw, being careful not to get the locktite on the plunger portion of the screw.  I also use a little rubbing alcohol on the threads to clean any oil or grease, giving the locktite a better hold.  If anyone has questions about this just let me know!

Hope to see you all soon!

ICORE Senior is age 55-64.

ICORE Senior is age 55-64. Distinguished Senior is 65+

IDPA Senior is 50-64 with Distinguished Senior 65+.

So, at 51,  I'm an IDPA Senior but not an ICORE Senior.... not quite yet.

Brian,  I've done a little

Brian,  I've done a little reading about recovery after surgery.  The LAST thing you want to do is come back too soon...  You could set yourself back seriously.  But we will welcome you back as a spectator...  Think about it.  There is wisdom in my words...

My name is finally on the match champion page, but I know everybody knows that I have an asterisk by my name.

Get well buddy.  I'm in the hunt.  :-)

Brian, I am with Mark on

Brian, I am with Mark on this. I have seen some very talented shooters ruin there career in the shooting sport. Most have told me " If I had only waited 3-4 more months I might be a better shooter today." So heed my warning. Take it easy..

"If you plan to leave early, please arrive early to help set up. If you arrive late, please stay late to help take down. If you plan to arrive late and leave early, please do your shooting someplace else."

Mark and Ty, thank you so

Mark and Ty, thank you so much for your concern.  I'm touched my your thoughts of me.

I agree, I need to be careful.  My doctor's biggest concern is lifting and carrying things.  I told him no to be concerned, that a couple of my shooting buddies are concerned too and I'm sure they will keep me from over-doing it.   I appreciate your concern and I'll be happy to let you carry my range bags and gear.

While you guys are unloading the car, Wendy and I will be in the bar!!!

Thanks again!
