The WA State IDPA match is in the bag...

The WA State IDPA Championship Match was in Puyallup Washiington on July 29th.  (Video Posted)

NVSA was well represented by Brian Gonsalves, Ty and Wendy Hamby, Wayne Johnson, John Mercurio and myself.  It was a treat to shoot in July a lush, park-like environment with high temps in the low 70s.

Congratulations to:

Brian Gonsalves - ESR Match Champion

Ty Hamby - 1st Place ESP Sharpshooter (with a field promotion to ESP Expert!)

Wendy Hamby - High Lady and 2nd place ESP Marksman

Wayne Johnson - High Super Senior

John Mercurio - 1st Place CDP Master

One of the final Stages Mark

One of the final Stages Mark forgot to mention is the most important. After the match we all took shots with our pistols at a 12" Gong out to 200 yard. Yes that is right pistols @ 200yds.

First Place goes to Wayne Johnson who took I think less than 5 shots.
Second Place goes to Mark Barr who only needed a few more attempts to zero in on the gong.
Third Place was Brian with a 4" revolver. He rang it with fewer than 8-10 rounds (cant remember)
Then came Sean Young, Ty Hamby, Joe Truesdale, and John Mercurio. We all finally rang it after several more repeated reloads. Not as impressive as the first 3 shooters but possible with enough ammo available.

It was a fun match. Wendy and I both came away liking the quality of stages. Everything flowed nicely and we both came away happy. It would have been nice to have received more than an applause for a 1st place finish. Especially when it is my First 1st. place finish at a major match.  Other than that I was pleased with the stages and 99% of the staff. I give this match a 6.8 out of 10.

Wendy says she will be back next year. Sounds good to me.
