January leaves us a 5th Sunday. Lets have a fun match.

NVSA will be holding a special match on Sunday, January 31st. We are still detailing out the stages, but this much is clear... Six stages.... We will be using numbered targets with 1-second per point down scoring, plus penalties. Penalties for each stage will be delineated within the stage description. All shooting will be done from inside shooting boxes. Stage designs should be finalized and posted by Sunday, the 10th.

Gates will open at 0700 for stage builders and helpers. Sign-in will start at 0815 and close at 0845. New shooters to the range should be sign-in before 0830, at which time the New Shooter Orientation will take place. Shooters meeting will be held at 0900 with hammers falling shortly thereafter.

Let's hope that the Karma and Weather Goddesses smile kindly upon us but, just in case, be sure to check your emails and/or the website for match status prior to heading out to the range on match day.

Amazing things I witnessed

Amazing things I witnessed today.

1) A dozen members showing up to help setup.
2) Evan shooing a SA revolver.
3) A competitor shooting in sandals.
4) A first time shooter winning ProdSSP
5) A very new lady shooter besting her husband on a couple stages (accuracy)
6) First to the range this morning young Phill Osborn also helping tear down all three bays.
7) 6 stages that were each shot 30 different ways by everyone.
8) One of the Moe's having the best day ever and the other winning it all.

It is so great shooting with so many wonderful people.

A few hiccups... but all-in

A few hiccups... but all-in-all we did good. Great stages... I like when I hear, "Oh CRAP!" OR something more colorful... when a shooter forgets a target [Guilty].

The ability to shoot straight is that part of national security which affects the individual more than any other. - Merritt "Red Mike" Edson; CMOH-USMC
